WEBDec 13, 2011 · The bolt head and LP are essentially "wear items" to save the trunnion from damage. Additionally, the barrel can also shift forward inside the trunnion further closing the bolt gap. There are 6 "minus sized" rollers and 10 "plus sized" used to keep the gap within the .004" to .020" specification.

The HK91 is such a piece of shit that if you put me in a room with a hungry tiger and a HK91, I'd let the hungry tiger eat me before I picked up the HK91 and shot it.

The ones I have shot have been extremely reliable with a wide range of ammunition and usually capable of sub-2MOA accuracy with decent ammo/shooter (NOT foreign mil surplus, etc.).

It is designed to be a reliable, reasonably accurate military firearm which will keep chugging along when other rifles have fouled up. Sorta halfway in the middle between the old AR15 accuracy vs. AKM reliability decision.
